The word "orthopaedics" was first used in a book published in 1741 by Nicholas Andry. Within the text he illustrated the "crooked tree" which has become the symbol for most orthopaedic organizations around the world.
Although many related agencies have used it in many different ways or customizing the tree, the essential design remains to sustain the powerful meanings of its origins.
The Exeter logo proudly tells its own Emirati story, where the tree is inspired from the Ghaf tree, in fact ever green tree of the UAE.
