Personal Statement

Dr. Arshad Javed has been in the Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon post in Blackpool Victoria Hospital, UK for over the last 12 years. His responsibilities include supervision and carrying out elective Orthopaedics and Trauma activities and performing high volume of hip and knee replacements including revision surgery. Various varieties of hip replacements like cementless, cemented and hybrid hip replacements are regularly implemented. Dr. Javed has special interest in the management of hip and knee sports injuries performing Hip and Knee Arthroscopies on regular basis with ligaments reconstruction, meniscal repairs and chondroplasty. In addition, he also arthroscopically managed femoroacetabular impingement, Labral hip tears, ligament tear injuries and removal of loose bodies from the hip joints. Dr. Javed’s interest in trauma management over the last 12 years has included conservative management of various fracture, open reduction and internal fixation as well as Intramedullary nailing of both upper and lower limbs. He has completed an approved Residency training program in Trauma and Orthopaedics from North West, North East and Mersey regions of UK over six years followed by one year of Clinical Fellowship from The Children Hospital, Sheffield, UK in lower limb deformity correction.
